but could failure to get a deal done on the fiscal cliff spark some serious safe haven buying? that's the question. joining us now to talk gold is president and ceo of global holdings. so that is the question. what's the answer? >> okay. well, as you said, gold has been range-bound for a little over a year now. and as far as the fiscal cliff, we're not coming close to a deal, maybe going over the cliff, you're seeing gold pulling back a little bit. so it's actually -- that is not an impetus right now to drive gold higher. now, our feelings are that we're not really going to go over the fiscal cliff in the true sense. we might in a temporary for a very brief period of time. but, once we come out of that, and the actual deal we start looking at what the deal is, the details, we're going to probably see there's no real significant cut in spending, and that the ongoing spending, and creation of additional debt is going to continue unabated, and that will be a real driver for gold. >> okay, so my second bet, though, beyond that we might be having this conversation in the end of janu
